Cannabis Innovation + Sensory Expert, Food + Flower Magazine
Trained under the James Beard Award Winning Chef Jimmy Schmidt at The RattleSnake Club in Detroit and California, Chef Chris Binotto found his was way to The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, CA as Sous Chef. Chef Chris led the team that would eventually win not only the Forbes 5-Star Award but, also, secured the first Forbes Triple-5-Star Award that the Resort had received. This award was 1-of-6 that were given to resorts worldwide in 2013.
Chef Chris made the move to Chicago in order to work for Celebrity Chef Graham Eliot. As Chef Tournant, Chef Chris helped to lead a team to consecutively win 2 Michelin Stars two-years in a row at the flag ship restaurant Graham Eliot. After, Chef Chris opened Iron Chef Morimoto’s newest concept, Japonais by Morimoto.
Chef Chris worked very closely as part of the opening team with Iron Chef Morimoto. As Chef De Cuisine, Chef Chris was the first pick for Morimoto to attend events such as Chicago International Food Show and Star Chefs Event in NYC. After a few amazing years with Morimoto, Chef Chris was approached by Music Mogul Manny Halley (music manager for Keisha Kole, Nikki Manaje, Young Thug ect.) to create and open the fine dining Asian fusion concept, House of Macau, in Hollywood as Executive Chef.
Later approached by restaurateur mogul Zach Niel, creator of the original Beetle House in NYC, Chef Chris took over the culinary program as the Executive Chef at Beetle House Hollywood.
Since then, Chef Chris has taken over as Corporate Executive Chef for New Gold Management (Hospitality), opening “The Electric Pussycat” an Austin Powers themed bar and grill, as well as KarnEvil. He went on to relaunch the food program for Beetle House NYC and opening DC and has many recipes featured in the “Beetle House” cook book, The Nightmare Before Dinner, by Zach Neil, released in October 2018.
In 2017, Chef Chris had also begun a project with Mark Leible dubbed “Cannabis Supper Club”. This experimental dinner was an instant hit and has since grown tremendously. They’ve been featured in editorials across GQ Magazine and High Times Magazine, as well as nominated as one of the “Top-5 Cannabis Dinners in California” by Leafly.
Currently Binotto is running Cannabis Supper Club as well as his newly founded Embers & Ash, a live fire cooking experience. Chef Chris also maintains work with New Gold Management. Chef Binotto recently made his Television debut in 2021 on Chopped420.
